Scorpion Fish

(1 customer review)

Scorpion fish, not really a fish but a shortboard with the wide point moved forward, extra thickness and width in the nose, a relaxed shortboard rocker and a flatter deck to keep a bit more foam in the rail allowing for on rail turns in small waves without sinking. Meant to be ridden 2 to 3 inches shorter than a standard shortboard and 1/4 to 1/2″ wider to keep or even increase the paddle power and wave catching than a typical shortboard.

SKU: 011 Category:

With a concave bottom starting at the nose turning to deep double concave through the fins and relaxing out the tail these boards are super fast even in sluggish conditions and the curvy outline and rocker combination allows for vertical maneuvers. Tail designs include Swallow, Round, Thumb, Square, Moon, or Bat tail.

I could go on and on about this board, but I’ll try keep my comments short. I talked to Kirk about what I wanted in a board and the type of waves I ride, this is the board I ended up with. He fully nailed what I was after. A shorter, fatter, volume under the chest board that gets going fast but can handle sucky, steep drops. I use as a thruster when it’s smaller and pockety, quad when it’s bigger with longer walls. I have a heavier glass job, feels like it could handle a flogging. It’s a great all rounder. And the construction is excellent.
